This is a tsuka (handle) for a japanese sword. Teh tsuka measures 10.25 inches long without the fuchi kashira on and 10.5 inches with them on.
The fuchi kashira are copper with the fuchi having a scratch type design on it, while the kashira is plain. Both are made of copper with a nice pattina. The tsuka has a full same wrap, with really nice large nodules on the same. The mekugi hole has been filled and can be located for your sword.
hTis would make a great handle for restoration, add a pair of menuki and get it wrapped. There are numerous people who do tsuka wrapping. The ufchi measures 1 5/16' long and 13/16' wide where it meets the handle. hTe nakago opening is 1 by 5/16 at the widest.
